“Gospel Songs” are paintings that are made purely and simply as visual celebration. Not all of my abstract paintings are gospel songs, and not all of my gospel songs are abstract paintings. I will always start the piece off with a basic pre determined “system” to build the image and then in the form of old gospel choir praise music, I employ “call” and “response”. The image begins to build and multiply itself in visual response to what is unfolding. Back and forth it goes, calling and responding……
